The Mississippi Arts Pavilion in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, will be the exclusive host of "The Glory of Baroque Dresden" exhibition, the first major exhibition from Dresden in United States in twenty-five years and the first since the reunification of East and West Germany. Consisting of over 400 major artworks from eight collections of the State Art Collections Dresden, "The Glory of Baroque Dresden" will consist of over twenty Old Master paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Titian, Mantegna, Jacob Van Ruisdael, Van Dyck, Tintoretto, Carracci, Murillo, Ribera, Velasquez; Canaletto; Bellotto, and Lucas Cranach the Elder, among others; rare collections of arms & armor; Chinese, Japanese, and Meissen porcelain, including some of the life size animal sculptures; decorative arts including the Throne of August the Strong and the solid silver console tables from the Audience Hall; sculpture by Balthazar Permoser; Paul Heerman, Francois Girardon; Francesco de Giorgio Martini, and Corradini, among others; a re-creation of the Audience Hall of the Dresden Castle; prints & drawings including works by Lippi, Bronzino, Correggio, Guercino, Potormo, Reni, Peter Bruegel the Elder, Rubens, Segers, Rembrandt, and Durer, among others; coins & medals; and jewels from the famous Green Vault of the Dresden Castle including the Rose- Diamond parure, the "Moor," and one of the most famous jewels in the world---"The Dresden Green Diamond," the 41-carat diamond is the largest naturally colored green diamond ever found.
