Between Bridges is pleased to continue its exhibition programme this autumn with a solo show by Berlin-based artist Peter Knoch. This spring / summer's 'Meeting Place' series of events will continue alongside the exhibition programme later on this autumn. Please visit our website for upcoming events.

Peter Knoch's exhibition will offer a long overdue comprehensive view on this multi-faceted artist's practice spanning a period of over thirty years. An installation conceived for the window onto Keithstrasse has been put together with a selection of older paintings, some of which have never been seen in public, alongside current work.
Having shifted away from painting in recent years, Knoch now mainly produces sculptural installations using themes of myths, fairytales and anxieties from childhood. He interconnects these with the apocalyptic fears of our contemporary world. Populated by dolls and animals, his miniature worlds are created with obsessive detail and tremendous craftsmanship, which initially create an impression of “beauty” rather than associations with melancholy and brutality. Currently Knoch is working with ceramics, using glazes and engobes to “paint” portraits of apes.

Peter Knoch lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin, where he co-founded the 'Freie Klasse' – notable for its rejection of a master professor, in favour of a constantly changing programme of lecturers. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions:
