Thomas Eller, aka THE, deals with the limits of humanity in this exhibition. His concept of the Übermensch does NOT concern itself with totalitarian phantasies of superhuman powers, but instead develops a radically democratic notion of self-commitment.

„Frei wozu?“ - „Free – to what end?“ asked Friedrich Nietzsche. To give oneself one’s own purpose is the task at hand – Do we live up to it?

Eller’s artistic work has always been about finding possible perspectives outside the common frameworks. This upcoming exhibition focusses on three different bodies of work:

The anamorphic projections of his „objectiles“ can only be viewed from extremely steep angles and are visually interactive by producing different appearances from different viewpoints.

The lenticular lenses of other works induce the feeling of going blind in the viewer.

THE real mirror is a concept for a mirror in which you see yourself, as you appear in front of others – not mirror-wise but as seen through the eyes of others.
