THE CORE OF INDUSTRY - Fotografia Europea

THE CORE OF INDUSTRY is an International Photography award by invitation only and is open to European photographers under 35 years of age. The nominees, selected by a team of 12 nominators coming from all over Europe, are invited to submit a project. An international jury will view the works and select the winner in the contest of Fotografia Europea 2008. THE CORE OF INDUSTRY, aims to focus on the varied reality of present-day European industry, through the ability of photography to document –as well as depict and interpret in an original and innovative manner– the human, social and historical phenomena of the contemporary world. Architecture and landscape, as well as the environmental context, and the human and social consequences of industrial changes are some of the possible approaches to a research that will emphasize critical situations as well as situations of excellence.
