press release

Tensta Konsthall is proud to be the opening venue for the first ever full-scale production of theatre works by Öyvind Fahlström in Sweden. In a unique collaboration between Tensta Konsthall, Unga Klara Theatre and Dansens Hus, The Alice Collective for Sound and Stage Art will present the world premiere of Fahlström's The Hard and The Soft - Boord, a Concrete Drama in Two Acts.

The hard and soft was written in 1953 by the internationally renowned artist, poet and playwright Öyvind Fahlström. The play offers us an opportunity to look at ourselves from a fresh and critical perspective and it is still as frightening today as when it was first written. Fahlström's alternative world contains incomprehensible language, extraordinary actions and provocations. Other laws govern, but they have structural and visual similarities with those that are dominant in our society. It is a violent, sad and laughable image of humanity that emerges. One that suffers under the pressures that forces citizens to conform and makes them consume each other.

On stage: Hans Sandquist, Elisabet Karlsson, Richard Turpin, Christian Hillborg, Kirsti Torhaug, Emelie Jonsson, Ivo Nilsson, Jonny Axelsson, David Stackenäs, Nathalie Ruiz. Voices: Julia Marko-Nord, Teddy Hultberg.
