Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts

Matt Keegan: Replicate
19.10.2017 - 07.01.2017
Opening: 19.10.2017 18:00 - 20:00

Matt Keegan’s exhibition at the Carpenter Center, his first institutional solo presentation in the US, brings together works that explore language, cognition, and identity formation. Replicate includes his recent two-channel video, Generation (2016), powder-coated steel and mirror-polished sculptures, and two commissions—a hanging textile and a cardboard-lattice work made in response Le Corbusier’s architecture. Keegan’s works shown here suggest the ways in which meaning is made from specific experiences understood through a given set of constructions that shape our consciousness and understanding. Organized by Daisy Nam, Assistant Director of the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts.
