Le sentiment, la pensée, l'institution presented at Le Château de Rochechouart - Musée d'art contemporain de la Haute-Vienne is the first solo exhibition in a museum by French artist Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann. The exhibition builds a sensitive vision of fictional domestic environments based loosely on Nicolas Roeg's film The Man who Fell to Earth (1976) abounding with references to film and literature that slip lithely between design, performance and function values. Like a palimpsest exploring the poetic and psychological associations attributed to interiors and spaces for living, the exhibition will reverberate constantly through all eight of the museum's second floor galleries.

Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann was born in Paris, France 1980. She lives and works in Paris, France. Graduating from ENSA Paris-Cergy in 2006, she was awarded the AWARE (Archive of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions) Prize in 2017. The artist has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, most recently at Beeler Gallery, Columbus, Ohio; Converso, Milano, Italy; MRAC, Sérignan, France; MUSEION, Bolzano, Italy; MUDAM, Luxembourg; Maison Louis Carré, France; Hepworth Wakefield, United Kingdom; CAC Passerelle, Brest, France; La Galerie Noisy-le-Sec, France; Benaki Museum, Thessaloniki, Greece; @KCUA Gallery, Kyoto, Japan.
