In September, Korakrit Arunanondchai, born in Bangkok in 1986, currently living in New York, will fill Kiasma’s fifth floor with his intriguing visual worlds, combining collective memory of the digital era, his family’s and his own personal experiences.

Korakrit Arunanondchai combines in his works videos, music, installations, and performances. In his works, collective memory blends with imagination, fantasy and personal experiences. The artist himself and his close relatives are often involved in works that absorb popular culture, technology, mythology, animism and geopolitics.

“Arunanondchai builds a new universe in the gap between nature and digital life, between the experience of place and the experience of the cosmopolitan non-places that structure it, between identity and the anxieties of its expression to a global public.
