press release

Karla Black enjoys an international reputation having represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale in 2011. Using materials from the domestic (often female) sphere, including sugar paper and eye-shadow, Black’s work challenges notions of sculpture as monumental, with its fragile impermanence.

Karin Ruggaber uses the everyday and urban architectural landscape to great formal effect, creating wall and floor based structures and patterns that embrace the materially poetic and subtle.
