The exhibition "Body without limits" 1980 -2007, co-produced by the DA2 and BANCAJA is the first retrospective shows that takes place in Europe on the work of JUDITH BARRY, influential American artist, internationally recognized as a pioneer in the development of video work.

The exhibition deal more than 1200 m2 (all of the second floor of DA2) The works selected for this show put special emphasis on the contributions of this space and conceptual artist in the field of video installation by drawing a complete trail that runs from his first works in the eighties to the present day, with the added attraction that some facilities will be seen in Europe for the first time.

The concepts, techniques and forms that Judith Barry has been carrying on their work since the early 80's is a history of many current artists who exploit the potential of technology in the middle photographic and moving image (video and film) with a magnified of the means to be translated into various types of facilities immersive incorporating projections, based on experiments performances, theatre, film, digital graphics, interactive features, architecture and sculpture.

Since its first performances in San Francisco at the end of the seventies, Judith Barry has incorporated video and film projections of their work by providing a visual original solution to each of them. Judith Barry has been, in fact, one of the first artists at the international level to integrate the physical and conceptual space of film and video as an integral part of his work, and his work has constantly sought new ways that the spectator living concept and the space visually the moving image.

Based on literary theory, their experiences with dance and performance studies and film, she has incorporated various forms of approximation, so that the viewer / user can be found itself in the work and give it meaning.
