HARD TO PICTURE. A TRIBUTE TO AD REINHARDT
17.06.2017 - 21.01.2018
Vernissage 16.06.2017 18 00

Most famous for his radical and emblematic monochrome paintings of the 1950s and 1960s, Ad Reinhardt was also a prolific illustrator, with thousands of his caustically witty drawings and collages published widely in the American press.

Through a broad selection of more than 250 original illustrations and drawings from his commercial art practice, the exhibition at Mudam Luxembourg underscores the artist’s great freedom of expression and commitment to social and political causes. It also explores the echoes of this less examined aspect of Reinhardt’s work in contemporary art.
