The sculptor Gisela Kleinlein shows in the exhibition "Dingwelt“ (world of things) at Lehr Contemporary Art new sculptures, objects and works on paper.

The artist uses simple materials such as plaster, metal, plastic or wood. Its design language is derived from household and everyday objects and organisms, which undergo a reclassification and reorganization. The structures created by layers, twisting, weaving, accumulating, cutting and joining. An essential component of Kleinleins work are strategies of transfer and context shift the balance between reduction and emotional quality, between the severity and rigidity of the material and its softness.

Kleinleins sculptures and objects are familiar to us because they seem to remind us of something, but they are also strange, because they do not itendify themselves. The artist suggests, puts mental links, raises questions. It offers a potpourri of possibilities and mysteries and leaves the viewer with a search for answers consciously alone. In fact, the work does not need a resolution. Her works don't want to become classified, but offer each anew. With charm, wit and humor, they develop an autonomous world of things. Gisela Kleinlein lives and works in Berlin.
