Following the success of the re-launched Derby Photography Festival, FORMAT, in 2005, this years programme features 30 exhibitions and over 300 artists. The festival, programmed around the theme of Transform, will run from 22nd September to 22nd October in venues across Derby.

Main exhibitions include the world premiere of Chicago by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin, the first UK exhibition by Magnum photographer Trent Parke, a retrospective show by John Goto titled Paintings and Photographs, newly commissioned works by Tim Simmons and Julian Germaine and an installation by Anne-Marie Creamer.

Practitioners can access two days of presentations and portfolio viewings by curators, publishers, commissioners and picture agencies. And the festival will close with a conference titled Photographing Paintings / Painting Photographs which will be chaired by Lisa Le Feurve and Jonathan Harris.

Alongside this will be a full programme of workshops, master classes, screenings, events, and talks. You can even submit picture messages from your mobile phone for inclusion in a special exhibition.
