press release

The Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss have been collaborating for almost 25 years, and are among the most important artists working in Europe today. Their art is characterised by a singular lightness and irony. Fischli and Weiss explore with a wondering gaze "everyday wonders" which are often overlooked, and which must therefore be recognised with a new look. The joy of the unspectacular runs like a red thread through their works, which include photographs, sculptures, videos, film and installations. The exhibition Peter Fischli & David Weiss: Big and Small Questions provides a representative overview of the works of this duo of Swiss artists, from the 1970s to the present day. The main piece is a large installation with slide projections on the question, Will happiness find me?, which in 2003 won one of the main prizes at the Venice Biennale. The exhibition, which will also be shown at Kunsthallen Brandts Klædefabrik in Odense, Denmark, is the first major presentation of the two artists in the Nordic countries, and is based on the Goetz Collection in Munich.
