The Whitechapel's 2004 East End Academy showcases emerging artists from Europe's largest concentration of artists. As a focused snapshot of East London's immense creative output, the exhibition surveys the most exciting new talent in London today.

Works on show range from delicate pencil and ink drawings to room-sized environments, and include painting, photography, video and installation. Also, by picking up a map at the Whitechapel, you can explore the off-site commissions and over 120 other galleries in the area.

East End Academy
2004 sees the launch of the Whitechapel’s East End Academy, an open submission exhibition for artists living and working in the East End of London. The exhibition will comprise works by artists selected by a panel of judges and will take place every three years.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Rich Mix.
