Bernd Ribbeck / Aloïse

Galerie Ben Kaufmann is pleased to present the show Bernd Ribbeck/Aloïse Corbaz. A series of new works by Bernd Ribbeck on MDF from 2010 will be shown in combination with drawings and collages by Aloïse Corbaz (1886-1964). Aloïse Corbaz is one of the main representatives of Art Brut. Her work, which was displayed by Jean Dubuffet in public for the first time in 1948, deals with romantic dream worlds and can be interpretated as textualizing gender and role play. Her extensive oeuvre is appreciated by a generation of younger artists such as Bernd Ribbeck. Aloïse Corbaz will be shown at 'World Tranformers, the Art of the Outsiders' ('Weltenwandler, die Kunst der Outsider'), Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (24.09.-09.01.2011).
