press release

Few artists strike the viewer with such a multifaceted approach in their works.

Achim Duchow (1948-1993), collaborator and close friend of Sigmar Polke during the 1970s, beguiles with his sharp socio-critical eye, mordacity, and has created a witty oeuvre, subverting the sacrality of painting and adapting various ironic strategies of European Pop Art.

Subsequent to Duchow’s recent acknowledgment by academia through research done at the department of Art History at the Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf, we are very pleased to present Achim Duchow’s first solo exhibition at Setareh Gallery.
