Yaacov Agam (b.1928, Rishon Le Zion / Israel) is an Optical-Kinetic artist based in Paris. In his works he constantly is in search for connections between art and technology and he created works that combined sound, light and water elements. In 1996, UNESCO awarded Agam the Jan Amos Comenius Medal for the "Agam Method" for the nonverbal visual education of young children. Yaacov Agam studied at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem under Mordecai Ardon, and at the Atelier d'art abstrait and at the Académie de la grande chaumière.
