Vadim Zakharov (b. 1959, Dushanbe / USSR / Tajikistan, 1929 to 1961: Stalinabad) based in Cologne and Moscow, is one of the most important representatives of the second generation of Moscow Conceptualism (This generation questioned the first generation around Ilya Kabakov, Vitaly Komar, Alexander Melamid, Erik Bulatov, Viktor Pivovarov and Andrei Monastyrski, among others).
Zakharov creates paintings, photographs, videos and installations, in which he combines art and literature.
2013 Vadim Zakharov's works were shown in the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, curated by Udo Kittelmann.
