Thomas Gainsborough (born 1727, Sudbury, UK, d. 1788, London), together with William Hogarth and Joshua Reynolds, was the leading portrait and landscape painter of the 18th century in England. Famous works are 'Mary and Margaret, The Artist's Daughters' (1759), 'The Blue Boy' (1770), 'Girl with Pigs' (1782), 'The Morning Walk' (1785).
