The sculptor and Turner Prize winner Richard Deacon (born 1949 in Bangor/Wales) lives in London. He studied at Somerset College of Art in Taunton, St Martins School of Art in London and Royal College of Art in London and afterwards art history and philosophy at Chelsea School of Art in London. He participated at documenta 9 (1992) and Skulptur.Projekte Münster (1997) and has had solo exhibitions in important art institutions, including Tate Gallery London, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, Tate Gallery Liverpool, PS1 New York, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and Sprengel Museum, Hannover.
