Piero della Francesca (born around 1412, Borgo San Sepolcro, Italy, died 1492, San Sepolcro, Italy) is seen as a key figure in the Italian Quattrocento / Renaissance. He worked in various Italian artistic centers: Florence, Ferrara, Rimini, Rome, Urbina and Perugia. He wrote theoretical writings on mathematics and perspective. Important works include "Baptism of Christ" (1450), "Resurrection of Christ" (1458), portraits "Federigo da Montefeltro" and "Battista Sforza" (1472).
