Monir Farmanfarmaian (Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, b. 1922, Qazvin/Iran; d. 2019, Tehran/Iran) ) was one of Iran's best-known visual artists. She designed geometric mirror sculptures that combine the mathematical order and beauty of ancient Persian architectural motifs with the patterns of hard abstraction. Between 1945 and 1957 she lived in New York and made friends with Frank Stella, Andy Warhol and others.
