Jean-Hubert Martin

Jean-Hubert Martin (b. 1944, Strasbourg / France) is art historian, curator and museum director. From 1971 to 1982 he was curator at the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris; from 1977 curator at the Center Georges Pompidou, Paris; 1982 to 1985 director of the Kunsthalle Bern; 1987 to 1990 director of the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris; 1991 to 1995 artistic director of the Château d'Oiron; 1994 to 1999 director of the Musée National des Arts d 'Afrique et d'Océanie, Paris; 2000 artistic director of the Biennale de Lyon; 2000 to 2008 Director-General of the museum kunst palast, Düsseldorf; and since 2011 president of the Palais de Tokyo steering committee.
