Giambattista Tiepolo (1696 born in Venice / Italy, 1770 died in Madrid / Spain) was one of the most important painters of the Venetian Baroque. He was the President of the Accademia di belle arti di Venezia and the father of Giandomenico Tiepolo. Famous works are "Life and Death" (1716); "Venus with Mirror" (1725); "Danae" (1736); "The Bath of the Diana" (1753).
