short biography

André Malraux (b.1901, Paris, born 1976 in Créteil, Val-de-Marne) was a writer, film director, politician and journalist who had a strong influence on post-1945 art. He was co-creator of the 42-volume book series of the "Musée imaginaire" with some 23,000 illustrations and advocates the thesis that everyone can assemble his personal museum through the photographic reproduction of works - detached from time and space (after the model "Encyclopédie photographique de l'art" by André Vigneau). 1959 to 1969 he was Minister of Culture at Cabinet De Gaulle in France.
