En analogie aux tendances de simulation, la scène internationale de l'art sert depuis le début des années 90 de lieu de transmission entre l'art et le monde quotidien sous des points de vues spécifiquement ludiques. Ceci ne devrait pas seulement être compris comme amusement et satire sans implication, mais également comme un effort particulier des jeunes artistes envers les catalysateurs de communication. Dans leur pratique avec les matériaux, les contenus, l'espace, notamment celui de la résonance sociale formé par le public avec ses différentes attentes et réactions, ces artistes trouvent une nouvelle liberté. Le public est constamment encouragé à prendre position individuellement dans l'importante offre multimédiale de l'art contemporain et de contribuer ainsi à la progression de ses stratégies.

Seit Beginn der 90er Jahre gibt es in der Kunstszene, analog zu den Simulationstendenzen, eine Vermittlung von Kunst und Alltagswelt unter spezifisch spielerischen Gesichtspunkten. Dies sollte nicht nur als unverbindlicher Spaß und Satire aufgefasst werden, sondern als die Bemühung jünger Künstler um Katalysatoren der Kommunikation. In ihrem Umgang mit Materialien, Inhalten und Raum, insbesondere mit dem sozialen Resonanzraum, den das Publikum durch seine unterschiedlichen Erwartungshaltungen und Reaktionen bildet, sind diese Künstlerinnen und Künstler von einer neuen Freiheit erfüllt. Stets ist das Publikum aufgefordert, einen individuellen Standpunkt zum reichen multimedialen Angebot aktueller Kunst einzunehmen und so am Weiterwirken ihrer Strategien mitzuarbeiten.

Since the early 1990s, in a manner analogous to the trend toward simulation visible elsewhere we have seen in the international art world specifically playful interface emerge between art and the everyday world. However, this should not be construed simply as fun or satire, bereft of a serious and compelling edge, but as the dedicated effort of younger artists to create catalysts of communication. And these artists are imbued with a new sense of freedom in the way they use their materials, contents, space and in particular society as a sounding board, i.e. the public and its various expectations and responses. Indeed, the public is constantly challenged to adopt an individual stance toward the wealth of offerings of contemporary art with its immense range of media and thus to participate in how such art impacts on us.
