From 10 July to 16 September 2018, Palazzo Reale di Milano hosts the anthological exhibition of Pino Pinelli (Catania, 1938), the first exhibition of a master of Analytical Painting. The path, through more than 40 works, more than fifty years of exhibition work, scattered in eight rooms of the Royal Palace reread the different phases of his work, in relation to an always renewed path that continues at the Gallerie d'Italia in Piazza della Scala that welcome an unpublished installation by the Sicilian artist.

Author established internationally, since the 60s of the last century, Pinelli is the protagonist of a kind of painting that is defined through the use of monochrome, the overcoming of the form-picture, the sensitive value of color and dissemination. At that time in Italy we witness the birth of a true stylistic revolution; the artists felt the limit of the painting, understood as a set of canvas and frame. Pinelli destructured the painting by dividing a perimeter into angular elements that define the emptiness of the inner wall, the field of attention moves to the entire surface and to the space as a whole. Within the course, a video documentary "La Luce di Pino Pinelli" will be shown. The life and works of an Italian master "(2016), a documentary by Mimmo Calopresti on the art of the Sicilian master.

The exhibition is part of the path with which Palazzo Reale, for the third consecutive year, explores contemporary art in the summer program, reinforcing this year with the collaboration of the Museo del Novecento and presenting four artists to the city to tell the story. creativity of our times: Agostino Bonalumi, Alik Cavaliere and Pino Pinelli at Palazzo Reale, Agostino Ferrari at the Museo del Novecento.
