Details:

„The Shape of Ritual“ by Evy Jokhova
This work is a multi-media project involving drawing, installation, sound and dance. During her residency at studio das weisse haus, Evy Jokhova has transcribed the Wotruba Church into music through systematic drawing in a collaboration with musician James Metcalfe.

„Mineral Sphere Activity“ by YoonJung Kim
Wearing dresses that she made and embroidered for each activity, YoonJung Kim spent time in the Museum of Natural History Vienna, the Museum of Technology Vienna and the Natural History Museum Joanneumsviertel in Graz, ultimately buying mineral samples from the gift shop which she then grinded and polished into spheres.

„Eye without a Face“ by Jennifer Saparzadeh
This is a 16mm lm tracing the closing of Europe‘s borders until Idomeni, Greece . For three months people restricted from entering Europe, and unable to return home, occupied a region of Greek countryside that meets Macedonia; where barbed wire floods down from fences and mingles with the spring time poppies and the grass.

„Misinterpret, Proclaim Offence, Get It Banned!“ curated by Cezara Nicola
The project investigates the concept of „moral panic“ and its manifestations in art. Visual and textual elements reflect back on artistic and mass-media as propagators of opinions, identities and differences, but also on the conceptual process of curating.

„Broadcast #1: Love Songs“ curated by Sophie Lee
The project brings together recent video works by artists living in London, Vienna and Rotterdam. Taking pieces that overwrite urban, geological and domestic spaces with a variety of texts and music, the programme looks at the meeting points of the intimate and the historical, and considers this process in relation to poetry and collage.

„A Rap on Race Revisited“ by Petra Ponte
This is a three-part program resonating and ruminating the thought-provoking 1970s conversation between the acclaimed black novelist, essayist, playwright, poet and social critic James Baldwin (1924-1987) and the celebrated white anthropologist and long-time curator of the American Museum of Natural History Margaret Mead (1901-1978). „A Rap on Race Revisited“ presents performative dialogical reading sessions of the transcribed conversation as well as contemporary re-actions.
