Helmut Newton: Sex and Landscapes

Mit „Sex and Landscapes“ wird das Spätwerk von Helmut Newton in 75 großformatigen Werken gezeigt. Dazu gehören die starken Frauen, die ihn berühmt gemacht haben und die er in selbstbewussten Rollenbildern und provozierenden Aktfotografien abgelichtet hat. Es gibt aber auch einen neuen Newton zu entdecken, der in sensiblen Nachtaufnahmen das Glitzern des Mondes über dem Meer oder den düsteren weiten Horizont der Wüste Nevadas einfängt und aus Landschaftsfotografien Stimmungsbilder macht.

‘Sex and Landscapes’ presents the late work of Helmut Newton in 75 large photographs. Among these are images of the strong women who made him famous, and whom he shot in self-confident gender roles and in provoking nude photographs. But there is also a ‘new’ Newton to be discovered, capturing the twinkling of the moon on the sea, or the vast horizon in the desert of Nevada, turning landscape photography into atmospheric imagery.
