Christophe Bruno: Le Dadamètre

Adaptation pour l'espace virtuel en ligne du Jeu de Paume, dans le cadre du second volet de la programmation Satellite

Le Dadamètre est un indice global permettant de mesurer notre distance par rapport à Dada. Le projet, inspiré de Raymond Roussel et de sa méthode, est une satire au sujet de la récente transmutation du langage en un marché global régi par Google. Il utilise les ultimes technologies de contrôle et de surveillance afin de cartographier le langage à grande échelle.

La version 1 du Dadamètre a été co-produite par les Rencontres Internationales Paris-Berlin-Madrid pour le nouveau cinéma et l’art contemporain. Dans ce cadre, elle a été exposée à Madrid du 5 au 14 mai 2008.

Elle comprend pour l’instant : — un site Internet décrivant le projet — une application off-line, présentant un graphe interactif et une cartographie, représentations du langage à grande échelle, tel qu’il est emmagasiné dans Google — des cartes imprimées Programmation informatique : Valeriu Lacatusu.

Pour l'espace virtuel en ligne, dans le cadre du second volet de la programmation Satellite du Jeu de Paume, le projet Dadamètre sera adapté, en créant notamment une version Internet du graphe interactif en français.

It brings about a new alliance between art, science and global finance. Christophe Bruno lives and works in Paris. Since 2001, he has been working on the effects of globalisation in the fields of language and images. The Dadameter is a global rating designed to measure our distance from Dada. Inspired by Raymond Roussel and his method, this project satirises the recent transmutation of language into a global market governed by Google. It uses the latest control and surveillance technologies in order to draw a large-scale map of language.
