Teresa Margolles (b. 1963, Culiacan-Sinaloa / Northwestern Mexico) is an installation and research artist. She was the co-founder of Grupo SEMEFO in Mexico, who investigated the history of death in Mexico City (1989-1999). In 2009 she represented Mexico at the 53rd Venice Biennale. In 2019 she participated at the 58. Venice Biennale. Margolles studied art, communications, and forensic medicine.
