Rem Koolhaas (born 1944 in Rotterdam/Netherlands) lives in London und Rotterdam. He studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture London and at Cornell University Ithaca/New York. He is one of the founding members of OMA Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam (Rem Koolhaas, Ole Scheeren, Ellen van Loon, Reinier de Graaf, Floris Alkemade, Victor van der Chijs) and teaches architecture and urban design at Harvard University. In 2000 he got the Pritzker Prize.
His architectural projects include Kunsthal Rotterdam 1993; Human Rights Building, U.N., Geneva 1996; Second Stage Theatre Manhattan New York City 1999; Netherlands Embassy Berlin 2003; McCormick Tribune Campus Center Chicago 2003; Seattle Central Library 2004; Casa da Musica Porto 2005; Serpentine Gallery Pavilion London 2006; Whitney Museum, New York 2006; Seoul National University Museum of Art 2005; Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre Dallas 2009; Riga Port City 2009; New Court, St. Swithin's Lane London 2010; The Factory, Manchester 2019, amongst others.
