Louis Daguerre (Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre, born 1787 in Cormeilles-en-Parisis / France; died 1851 in Bry-sur-Marne / France) was a painter and photographer and the inventor of the daguerreotype. The first photographs ever were made in 1837. In 1977 his works were shown at documenta 6 in Kassel.
