short biography

James Rosenquist (b. 1933, Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA; d. 2017, New York) was one of the most important representatives of Pop Art. He studied at Minneapolis Institute of Arts and at the University of Minnesota.
He said: “Pop Art. I’ve never cared for the term, but after half a century of being described as a Pop artist I’m resigned to it. Still, I don’t know what Pop Art means, to tell you the truth.”
