Hans Arp (Jean Arp, born 1886 in Straßburg/Germany (today France), died 1966 in Basel/Switzerland) was one of the most important artists of the twentieth-century avant garde, especially of Dadaism and Surrealism and a pioneer of abstract art. He was a member of the group "Abstraction-Création". Some of his works he created together with his wife Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
