George Segal (b. 1924, New York City, NY; d. 2000, New Brunswick, NJ) was known for his environmental life-size white plaster figures. In 1968 and 1977 he participated at documenta 4 and 6 in Kassel. Famous works are "Woman washes her feet" (1965), "The wash-house" (1967), "Blue Girl behind Blue Door" (1977), among others.
