Frédéric Bruly Bouabré (b. 1923 in Zéprégühé, Côte d'Ivoire; d. 2014 in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire) is the inventor of a graphic spelling of the alphabet of his native language Bété and made picture series from countless small drawings. He lived in Abidjan / Côte d'Ivoire and participated at biennials as Kwangju Biennale 1997; Johannesburg Biennial 1997; Biennial of Sydney 1998; and documenta 11 in Kassel, 2002; amonst others.
