Dora Maar (actually Henriette Markevitch, b 1907, Paris, d., 1997, Paris) was a photographer and painter. She made surreal photo montages, photo documentations of the unemployed and homeless and photo portraits of André Breton, Paul Éluard, Jean-Louis Barrault, Leonor Fini, and others. In 1936 she met Pablo Picasso and lived and worked with him until 1942.
