LAX Adrian Heathfield /Hugo Glendinning 19.30 Uhr

The writer Adrian Heathfield and the photographer Hugo Glendinning have been interested in Performance for a long time, and most recently published the book ”Live: Art and Performance” (2004). LAX is somewhere between a screening, an art lecture, and a discussion. The themes are photography and Performance, time and vision, repose and movement, conquest and loss. The duo’s conversations about Performance are performances in their own right, dialogues intertwining personal, fictive and philosophical observations with extraordinary images.

ILLUSTRATED LECTURE Franko B. 21.00 Uhr

Franko B. has been presenting his works of radical art since 1990 in an oeuvre moving from Performance through video, photography and painting to arrive at installations and sculptures. His lecture presents excerpts from documented major performances like I Miss You!, Aktion 398 and Oh Lover Boy. With cross references to historical influences, to his contemporaries in the world of art and culture, and to political developments Franko B. talks about that which “touches people” and “breaks their hearts”. “My work concentrates on the interior, where the body becomes a screen and a place of representing the holy, the beautiful, the untouchable, the unspeakable, to a place of pain, of love, of hate, of loss, of power, and of the anxieties of human existence.”
